This fresco, enhanced by projections, was created for the new Payot bookstore, in Geneva.
This corner angle of 3 meters high and 5 + 9 meters long was a blank canvas for us to imagine an relaxing and serene scenery on it. For us, it was about designing a glade in the city, a breath out of time surrounded by books .
We mixed unexpected creative means together, which was a way to use each of their respective assets : on the strong, sharp drawn shapes were superimposed dynamic, bright video and typefaces animations.
With regards to typography, a special typeface mixed of Bodoni characters and vegetal shapes was created, and would make the shapes of the tree complete when projected.
A solid work organization with a lot of people was crucial, and participating in every single step of the project was very important to me. I also took part in the artistic direction since the smaller prototype already decided upon was coming from a team of four, which I was a part of.
The final project is a fifteen minutes loop composed of words and three atmospheres for each of the four seasons, with various weather, landscapes and animals. The installation is displayed all day long in the bookstore and is currently still running.
