What does the increasing presence of advertising digital billboards mean for our data, street, cities and lives ? Through a formal and conceptual dezoom, this video explores what is at stake.
Quantification of our attention is enabled by smart technologies. Goals served by space datafication are not inherently human, but attached to capitalist logic. Streets should be first and foremost a public, common space, so how can we own them back ?
This project provides insights in the concepts and technologies that lies beneath digital billboards and invites to (re)think the presence of these screens : a city is what we make it.
